My mother-in-law held a small party just for me.
It was a truly joyful and heartwarming time.
We even took photos together.
While I was in the hospital,
I had forgotten how short my hair had become.
But when I came home and saw myself,
I couldn’t help but laugh and say,
“Oh, so this is what I look like now.”
At the hospital, I didn’t have the energy to care.
Now, even little things are coming back into focus.
I realize now—humans are truly social beings.
My mother-in-law had decorated the room with beautiful balloons,
and I was so thankful for the love behind it.
In that moment, I thought,
“Yes, I really am recovering now.”
Just the thought of being able to return to work after healing
made me feel hopeful and genuinely happy.
Though I still can’t speak fluently,
inside, I’m starting to sort through everything I need to do.
I can feel that my mind is slowly recovering too.
There’s someone I owe a large sum of money to,
and I felt I needed to get things in order quickly.
But then, all those anxious thoughts faded away,
and my heart began to feel at peace again.
While talking with my brother-in-law,
he said, “It’s such a relief.”
I couldn’t fully understand everything he meant,
but I felt his kindness—and it made me feel good.
My father-in-law also kept saying, “That’s good. That’s good.”
I couldn’t quite make out all the words,
but I understood the emotion in them.
I also remember the moment
when we all prayed together as a family.
It was a beautiful memory.
Compared to when I was in the hospital,
this life now feels so precious, so warm.
“Let’s begin again.
Let’s live again.
Fighting!”
