Suddenly, thoughts of home come to mind.
The same house.
And that day was just like any other.
It was my last day at work—
the day before I was taken to the hospital.
My children said,
“Dad is saying strange things.”
“Dad can’t speak properly.”
And someone said,
“He needs to go to the hospital.”
To be honest,
I don’t remember what I was thinking that day.
Maybe my speech was slurred, and my actions were strange.
My thoughts became blurry,
my body felt different,
but I didn’t know what was happening.
That day, my wife had a dinner planned with her friends.
I probably worked late, as usual.
There was too much work,
too much stress,
and my head hurt a lot.
Still, I came home from work
and stayed with the kids.
But the children noticed.
They said, “Something’s wrong with Dad.”
And they called an ambulance.
That is a painful memory.
From that moment, my life changed.
I remember more now, and I can say more.
But at this moment, my heart feels heavy.
I will take a moment to reflect,
and continue sharing when I feel ready.
