I had been thinking about moving for five years. I liked our neighborhood, but we planned to live there for five years and then move. At the time, I was an elementary school teacher, so I planned to move after five years. We had a great time there. Our apartment was on a higher floor, but it was right in front of two soccer fields, and the school campus was nearby, which was very convenient. The air was good because there was a nice mountain, and two subway stations were close, making life easy. And I liked that the apartment was like new. Best of all, our unit was on the third floor. It had a pilotis structure, so there were no other units on the first and second floors below us. When we lived on the seventh floor before, I used to feel sorry when my two sons even just ran a little, so moving to the third floor was wonderful. The children could run around and play soccer, and that made me so happy.
Now, five years have passed, and while there’s no longer a need to move schools, my injury put a stop to everything. I had been in charge of preparing the funds, as my wife has no interest in finance and didn’t want to handle it. But with me being sick, I couldn’t do anything. My wife and I both wanted to move, but my body wouldn’t cooperate, so we almost gave up.
I wanted to prepare a new house for the children, but we lacked the funds, and I had no idea which apartment to look for or how to even begin. I had almost given up when suddenly, a real estate agent contacted us. “There’s a house that just came on the market; you should see it right away and move in,” he said. We had been preparing all this time, but it was so difficult and we lacked the money. Suddenly, the agent made everything easy. He showed us an apartment we hadn’t seen before, and a house that someone else was about to sign a contract for suddenly became available for us. It became a house we could actually buy.
So today, I met with the real estate agent during lunchtime to check out the house, and we signed the purchase contract. And there was one more surprising thing. For some reason, my mom, who knows a lot about apartment sales, suddenly came over to our house that day. If my mom hadn’t come that day and helped us, we might not have been able to buy the house. If we had waited to see the house, someone else might have bought it first. The real estate agent had shown us the house and prepared everything for us before anyone else. As I worked in finance and learned, I realized that none of this was due to my own ability. It was God who prepared everything and made everything so easy from the very beginning. I have never experienced something proceeding so quickly and accurately in my life. I am so grateful. I want to express this feeling with better words, but it’s a shame that I can’t speak properly. It feels like this was the very best provision in the world. Even now, thinking about this makes my heart tremble with emotion. It’s a shame that I’m the only one who can talk about this feeling of gratitude and wonder.
