My vision has begun to clear. I had never once thought there was an issue with my eyes. Thankfully, my improved vision made me incredibly happy. I had never suffered from eye problems in my life, and I vaguely assumed that would continue. But in reality, I hadn’t been consciously aware that my eyes weren’t seeing properly. The problem was with my head, specifically my left side. I underwent major brain surgery, and my left side was slowly improving.
A while ago, I tried to read a book at the library. Of course, since I can’t read yet, I just sat beside my child and wife while they read. The library’s interior was filled with natural light, and its high ceiling gave it a wonderfully open feel. Named “Forest Library,” its wooden structure looked beautiful. But it was more than just beautiful. I suddenly realized that I hadn’t been seeing the world clearly until then. It seems my eyes hadn’t been seeing properly from the start.
Then, all at once, my vision became incredibly bright. I was astonished that the world could appear so clear and vibrant. “Wow… I could see this well all along… Wow, it’s so clean.” Exclamations like these poured out naturally. I had lived completely unaware that I possessed such good eyesight, just as I hadn’t known I was injured.
All this time, whenever I tried to read at home, I always turned the LED lights to their brightest setting. When Dad helped me study every day, he would grumble about how bright I made the lights and turn them down. Then I would get angry and yell at him not to turn them off. But Dad would turn them off, insisting it needed to be bright but also that we should save electricity, and I would turn them back on. We argued about this many times. I didn’t realize my vision was dim. Neither I, nor my wife, nor even my dad, who cared for me daily, knew I was injured in that way.
But now, my eyes see clearly. They see remarkably well. This feeling is something only I can know. This miraculous change is something only I can describe, only I can rejoice in, only I can be grateful for, and only I can be happy about.
Thank you so much. God, thank you so much. Thank you for letting me see this clear world again. This small change is a miracle that gives me the strength to live again.
